Description
During the two weeks workshop, active Vietnamese researchers and PhD students are trained in advanced technologies for plant biotechnology, DNA diagnosis in medicine, proteomics, and enzyme engineering.
In the first week, the most relevant techniques in molecular biology, biochemical analytics, and bioinformatics will be introduced by tutors from the Institute of Biotechnology (Hanoi). In the second week, tutors from three German universities (Greifswald, Regensburg, Stuttgart), the Max-Planck-Institute in Golm, and the Institute of Biotechnology (Hanoi) offer three parallel practical courses on plant biotechnology, high-throughput DNA diagnosis and gene expression analysis, and design of microorganisms, and microbial enzymes for biocatalysis. The courses will concentrate on the practical aspects of the methods. Experience with the presented methods as well as with alternatives are discussed.
The workshop takes place in the framework of the First German-Vietnamese Biotechnology Week 2002.

Costs
There will be no course fee and no fee for chemicals. Participants will be supported for accommodation and travelling.

Application
